Just as it has been foretold, today, October 13th, marks the arrival of the Oneiric Ocelot, the latest breed of Ubuntu. Also known as version 11.10, Oneiric Ocelot comes with multiarch support (allows 32-bit library and applications on 64-bit systems), GNOME 3.2, and a reworked Dash. Other goodies brought by this new release are a refreshed Software Center, the 3.0 Linux kernel, the LightDM login manager, Unity 2D, the Déjà Dup backup tool, Thunderbird as the default email client, a new Alt+Tab switcher, plus full support for Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and other script languages.
