Acer has started the European roll out of the Aspire S3 (its first ultrabook) pretty slow by only releasing a single SKU, the cheapest one priced at €799. Thankfully in November the company will introduce three more models, with better specs to provide extra choice to EU customers.
The only S3 selling in Europe is 0.68-inch thick, it runs Windows 7 Home Premium, and features a 13.3-inch (1366 x 768) CineCrystal LED-backlit display, a 1.6 GHz Core i5-2467M processor, 4GB of RAM, 340GB of storage (a 320GB hard drive and a 20GB mini SSD), Intel HD 3000 graphics, a 1.3-megapixel webcam, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, a 2-in-1 card reader, two USB 2.0 ports, a HDMI output, and a 3,280 mAh battery. So, this is €799 .
In November Acer will introduce the following SKUs:- €999 - 1.7 GHz Core i7-2637M, 4GB of RAM, 520GB storage (500GB HDD, 20GB SSD), Intel HD 3000 graphics (the rest of the specs remain the same as on the €799 model)
- €1,199 - 1.6 GHz Core i5-2467M, 4GB of RAM, a 240GB SSD, Intel HD 3000 graphics
