It's all thumbs up at Samsung Electronics as its Galaxy S line of Android smartphones has managed to surpass 30 million sold units. According to the South Korean company, the first-gen Galaxy S is almost at 20 million in global sales while the Galaxy S II has passed 10 million.
In fact, the Galaxy S II is Samsung's fastest-selling phone, reaching the 10 million mark in just five months. The S II is not only popular with consumers, cause it was also awarded the 'Phone of the Year' distinction at the Gadget Award 2011, Mobile Choice and Consumer Award 2011.
Currently Samsung is readying the release of another Galaxy-branded smartphone, the Android 4.0-running Galaxy Nexus, while a third-gen Galaxy S is planned for a 2012 release.
