Shuttle today launched the H7 5820S, a compact workstation based around Intel's LGA1366 platform that aims to deliver both solid performance and multi-monitor capabilities like no other machine thanks to the use of Matrox M-Series graphics cards.
Shuttle's new mini offering is enclosed in a H7 aluminum chassis (32.6 x 20.8 x 19.6 cm) and can be equipped with a Core i7 processor (up to a Core i7-980 hexa-core), 8GB or 16GB of RAM, up to a 240GB SSD and a 2TB HDD (or one/two HDDs), a DVD write, Blu-ray combo, of Blu-ray writer, and up to two Matrox M9188 2GB cards that are able to power a total of 16(!) monitors.
The H7 5820S runs Windows 7 and in its base configuration - with a Core i7-950, 8GB of RAM, a 1TB HDD and one Matrox M9138 LP card (enables up to a 3-monitor setup), it costs €1,400.
