To keep up somewhat busy until its Windows Phone launch later this month, Finnish firm Nokia has taken the veil off the Essence, a Bluetooth 2.1-supporting stereo headset which features NFC (Near field communication) capabilities. Beside allowing tap-to-connect via NFC, the Essence comes with the Bass Perfection Active Noise Cancelation technology which, together with the bundled medical-grade silicone earbuds, can suppress up to 99.8% of all background noise.
Nokia's headset weights 32 grams, and has 10.3mm drivers, a frequency response of 6 to 20 000 Hz, an impedance of 32 Ohms, an operating range of up to 10 meters, and a talk time of up to 8 hours. Pricing and availability were not revealed.
